Construction: Fueling Growth Through Working Capital
A painting and drywall contractor began winning larger commercial contracts, but often had to cover payroll, materials, insurance, and taxes before general contractors paid. Access CDFI provided more than $1.4 million in cumulative financing through successive working capital loans, helping the company manage cash flow, meet project expenses, and handle multiple contracts at once. The company grew from a team of six to eight employees to approximately 70 and reported $7 million in revenue in 2025.
Education
Preschool: Expanding Early Childhood Education
Access CDFI provided financing for the fire-code renovations needed to open a preschool’s third location in the Reno/Sparks area, where 88 children are already enrolled and the school expects to reach its full capacity of 125 children by opening day.

Pre-School: Supporting Educational Growth
After a change in ownership, a Henderson, Nevada school serving children from six weeks to seven years old set out to fill its 140-child capacity, with enrollment at roughly 60%. Access CDFI provided financial support to fund marketing, reach more families, and maintain reserves for staff and students. After partnering with Access CDFI, the school is currently at max enrollment and looking to expand.
Beauty & Personal Care
Salon: Turning a Lifelong Dream Into a Business
A hairstylist who started styling friends and family at 14 founded her business in 2016, working from a rented salon suite. With her sights set on her own salon, she turned to Access CDFI, which provided financing, business strategy, and technical assistance. With support from our business mentor and advisory team, the team grew to four, the business expanded its product offerings, and continued to serve North Las Vegas with beauty services and job opportunities.

Fitness & Martial Arts: Expanding to a Second Location
A martial arts studio began as a family’s legacy and retirement venture and grew through years of hands-on work. During COVID-19, classes were limited to nine students per session. Access CDFI provided financial support, technical support and strategic planning to help the studio take the first steps toward a new location, covering lease costs, equipment, licensing, and startup expenses. Today, the studio serves hundreds of students in Henderson, NV.
